The member dashboard is where you order coins and consumables, find suppliers and offers, register for events and keep your public store page up to date. This guide walks you through each part of it.
To get there, go to newsXpress.com.au and log in with your member email address and password. You will land on the Overview tab.
Start here
Your store profile is what customers see on your public store page, and many members overlook it. Completing it is the quickest way to help local customers find you.
Complete your store profile
Until your profile is complete, a progress bar shows above the tabs with how much is left to do. Once everything is filled in, the bar disappears.
- Click the round button with your initials at the top right, then click Profile. The Manage Store Profile window opens.
- Contact: add your contact name, phone, email and website. Your email is essential, because customer enquiries from your store page are sent there.
- Hours: add your trading hours, public holidays and any special dates.
- Location: check your address is correct, then click Lookup to fill in your latitude and longitude. Many members miss this button, and without it your store will not appear in the right place on the map. If the pin is not quite on your shop, drag it into place. This helps in shopping centres or where the address search struggles. Click Save Location when you are done.
- Store Page: add up to 6 photos (5 MB each, the first is your main image), switch on at least 6 products and services you offer, and write an About section of up to 400 characters. Click Save Store Page Content. Photos save as soon as you add them.
- Social: add your Facebook page and Google Business Profile, plus Instagram, X or TikTok if you use them.
- Stockists: tick the products you stock so your store appears on their public stockist pages.
- Click your initials, then View Store Page to see your page as customers do. Google picks up changes within about a day.
The Metrics tab is for internal use only. Its figures are private and never shown to the public or suppliers.
Get found on Google and Facebook. We highly recommend setting up a Google Business Profile and a Facebook page for your store if you have not already. Both are free and are the simplest way to make your store easier to find. These guides walk you through it:
- Google Business Profile: steps you can take to be more easily found
- How to create and manage a Facebook page for your business
Customer enquiries from your store page
Customers can contact you through the Contact Us button on your public store page. Their enquiry is emailed straight to the email address in Profile > Contact. Press reply on that email to answer the customer directly.
Enquiries are not saved in the dashboard, so check your inbox and junk folder.
Your email address is not shown on your public page, but it must be saved in your profile. If it is missing, customers will not be able to send you an enquiry. Keep it up to date.
Changing your store name
This cannot be done from the dashboard. Email help@newsxpress.com.au with your current store name and your new trading name, and the team will update it for you.
Finding your way around
The dashboard has nine tabs across the top. Click any tab to open it.
| Tab | What it is for |
| Overview | Your home screen, with things to act on and recent updates |
| Marketplace | Current supplier offers and promotions |
| Suppliers | The directory of preferred suppliers and their terms |
| Events | Upcoming events, including Seasonal Edge, and where you register |
| Coins | Coin order forms, release dates and hi-res images |
| Consumables | Order store consumables |
| Knowledge Base | Business articles and guides |
| Marketing Library | Posters, images, videos and PDFs to download |
| For Sale | Businesses for sale, visible to members only |
The menu at the top right. Click the round button with your initials to open it. From there you can:
- View Store Page: see your public store page as customers see it.
- Profile: update your store details, store page, hours, location and more.
- Password & Security: change your password.
- Logout
If you look after more than one store, use the store switcher next to your initials to change between them.
Overview
The Overview tab is your home screen. It has two parts:
- Action Centre: things that need your attention, such as events to register for and offers closing soon. If you are taking part in a Seasonal Edge promotion, its progress shows here too.
- Since you were last here: new offers, articles and updates added since your last visit.
Marketplace
Marketplace shows current offers and promotions from our preferred suppliers. Use the search box or the filter buttons to narrow them down by season, campaign, promotion or category.
Suppliers
Suppliers is the full directory of preferred suppliers. To find one:
- Click the Suppliers tab.
- Type a name or product into the search box, or choose a category.
- Use the badge filters to narrow the list further, such as Aussie Made, Top 20, HOT! or Centrally Billed.
- Click a supplier to open their details on the right.
Each supplier has two tabs:
- Profile & Terms: how to order, contact details, website and their trading terms. This includes payment terms, member discount, minimum order, freight conditions and supply terms.
- Catalogs & Offers: current offers and catalogues, plus order forms you can download.
What the badges mean. Badges show on each supplier's card and at the top of their details panel. They tell you how easy a supplier is to deal with, so check them before you order. You can also use them as filters in the Suppliers tab.
| Badge | What it means for you |
| Centrally Billed | Billed through newsXpress central billing, so you do not pay the supplier directly. No credit application needed. |
| E-Invoicing | Invoices import straight into your retail system. No keying in by hand. |
| E-Stock File | Stock files import into your retail system to set up products fast. |
| Aussie Made | Products made in Australia. |
| New | Recently joined our supplier list. |
| Top 20 | One of the group's 20 biggest suppliers by value invoiced to members. |
| HOT! | Popular with members right now. |
| Recommended | Worth a try. Something different that works well but is often overlooked. |
| Territory Protected | One stockist per territory. Great if you hold the account, but you cannot order if a nearby store already does. |
| Exclusive | Works with newsXpress and no other newsagency group, such as the Royal Australian Mint. |
There is no single download of every supplier's terms. Check each supplier's Profile & Terms tab for their details.
Events and Seasonal Edge
The Events tab lists upcoming member meetings, online meetings, conferences, coin launches and Seasonal Edge promotions. Featured events sit at the top. Use the buttons along the top to show one type at a time.
To register for any event, including Seasonal Edge:
- Click the Events tab.
- Click View & Register on a featured event, or View Details on an event in the list.
- On the event page, click Register. If you cannot make it, click Can't Attend.
- To change your answer later, open the event again and click Edit Response.
The Seasonal Edge card in the Action Centre on the Overview tab shows your progress, but it does not register you. Use its button to go to the event, then register there.
Seasonal Edge is an opt in promotion funded by head office for key retail seasons such as Christmas and Mother's Day. Once registered, build your in store display, post a photo of it in the private newsXpress Facebook group and run the customer prize draw. Dates change each season, so check the event page for this season's deadlines.
Coins
The Coins tab has three sections:
- Active: order forms open now, with a countdown to when ordering closes.
- Coming Soon: order forms about to open, with a countdown to when they open.
- Previous Orders: what your store has already ordered.
To place a coin order:
- Click the Coins tab.
- Find the release under Active and click View Order Form.
- The first time you order, you will be asked to accept the coin terms and conditions.
- Enter your quantities and submit your order.
RRP and cost: each coin on the order form shows its Cost (ex GST) and RRP (inc GST), plus the maximum per store where one applies.
Release dates: each coin on the order form shows its release date and time. Coins cannot be sold, promoted or offered before that date.
Hi-res images: these are at the bottom of the order form page under Hi-Res Images. Click Download Hi-Res Imagesto get them all in one zip file. They are only available once your store has ordered from that form and the images' publish date has passed. Before then, the page shows the date they will be available from.
The coin card may show a "Hi-Res Images Available" badge even if your store has not ordered. The download button only appears for stores that have ordered from that form.
Stockist pages: once a release goes live, ordering stores can appear on its public stockist page. You can tick or untick your store at any time in Profile > Stockists, for example if you sell out.
Consumables
Consumables has two sections:
- Supplied by newsXpress: add items to your cart, then click Finalise Order to send it.
- Ordered Directly from Suppliers: these open the supplier's own website, where you order with them directly.
Knowledge Base
Knowledge Base holds our business articles and guides. Search for a topic or choose a category, then click an article to read it. Click Save as PDF to keep a copy.
Marketing Library
Marketing Library holds posters, images, videos and PDFs for your store, including campaign artwork. Search or choose a category, click an item to preview it, then click Download.
For Sale
For Sale lists newsXpress businesses for sale. Listings are only shown to logged in members, never to suppliers or the public. To list your own business, click List my business for sale and add your contact details, a link and a short note. To change it later, click Edit my listing.
Getting help
Use the chat bubble at the bottom left of the dashboard to ask a question at any time. For anything else, email help@newsxpress.com.au and the team will get back to you.
