There are plenty of reasons why your business could benefit from a second Facebook page, or even more than one more.
Take lotteries. If you promote lotteries on Facebook, your reach will be age limited. Yet you may want to promote lotteries. Our advice is to create a page specific to your lottery related services, keeping your main business page for non-lottery products.
While maintaining a second page (or more) is time consuming, it is an important marketing activity through which you can reach additional shoppers.
Each additional platform you open has the potential to expand the reach of your business, to help you reach people beyond those who know your business and make assumptions about what you sell and do.
For each additional Facebook page, remember:
- Know what that Facebook page stands for.
- Speak with a clear and different voice to that of our main business page.
- Approach the page as an opportunity to reach new shoppers.
- Use the page to say things you might not say on your main page too.
- The page has a business focus.
Here are examples of categories of additional Facebook pages. Note, in these examples, XXX is your town or region:
- Gifts to love in XXX. Promoting gifts people will love giving.
- Games people play in XXX. Promoting games people in your area could play.
- Happy kids and happy families of XXX. Posts are centred on items you sell that entertain kids and families.
- Celebrating babies of XXX. Where you share photos of babies in the region as well as baby gifts and cards you sell, that celebrate babies.
- Stationery is fun. Leveraging ways people enjoy stationery at home and work. This is a page where you can have fun.
- Celebrating friendship in XXX. Every post is about friends and friendship, and things you sell that encourage this.
Look at each additional Facebook page as you opening a new line of communication, through a new voice, reaching to people in your region, narrow and targeted in focus.
Thanks to continued growth in use of social media and the disintegration of traditional media channels, businesses today need to use more paths to customers than ever before. This is why additional Facebook pages is an important consideration.
Look at newsXpress itself, we currently have seven Facebook pages beyond our newsXpress branded page and beyond the pages for each of our corporate stores. Each page is useful in being narrow and specialist in reaching out to find new shoppers.
