For years, newsXpress has partnered with Red Nose Day to raise funds for their work on SIDS. Each newsXpress member is sent a pack of fund raising items to sell. Here is advice on engaging with Red Nose Day in-store and beyond:
- Train your staff about the work of the Nose Day organisation:
- They host counselling sessions for parents and families affected by SIDS.
- They publish and distribute educational kits.
- They donate funds to medical research.
- They raise awareness in the community.
- Share access to the excellent resources at the Red Nose Day website.
- Place the fundraising items on the counter. Encourage staff to pitch the items.
- If you have multiple counters, move the display unit to ensure all shoppers see it.
- Write about the fundraising items you have on your business Facebook page along with words of support for the Red Nose Day organisation.
- Write about the work of the Red Nose Day organisation on your business Facebook page.
- Consider hosting a fundraising event.
- Share with other newsXpress members what you have done.
- Consider an offer. Here are some ideas:
- Have a sale. Buy a fundraising item and get 10% off anything in-store that day.
- Wear a Red Nose (on a day you specify) and get 25% off any purchase. Call it a Red Nose Sale day.
- Create a wall where people can post their stories of babies they or friends have lost, for any reason. This provides people to share heartfelt stories and through this you foster community.
