- Have we done enough to attract new shoppers for these items? Things like events as these can introduce people to the love of a product or category and show the shopper community as bigger, something they can be part of.
- Have we tried to pitch the product as having an appeal beyond the obvious? For example, Boos are not just bought by collectors, they are bought as a toy, a reward, a comfort and more.
- Have we promoted this sufficiently outside the business? For example, on Facebook, as a prize with community groups.
- Have we given the product enough sunshine time? In prime position, front of store and at the counter.
- Have we changed the in-store displays regularly, at least every two weeks?
- Do we all know who the customer is and why they could buy?
- Have we move the product or some of the product at least once or twice in recent months so the offer looks fresh?
- Have we maintained sufficient stock levels? People will not buy if the display looks empty.
- Are we consistent with our loyalty offer?
- Are we locally competitive?
We all determine the success of what we sell in our shops through our own actions.
