Maintain business as usual and you will get usual results.
Create a short-life pop-up HAPPY SHOP. This should run for one or two weeks.
Situate it at the front of your shop, from outside the front and for the first two or three metres. In this space:
- Display happy products: Shoebox cards, Boos, Squishies, Affirmations cards and notes, dog and cat gifts, pretty much anything from Independence Studios, jigsaws, games, ... anything that can make anyone happy. Place happy products at the counter for impulse purchase.
- Offer happy experiences: doing a jigsaw, playing with kinetic sand, playing with slime, playing marbles, playing pickup sticks, making happy faces to hang on a wall - What makes me happy...
- Play happy music. There are excellent happy playlists of Spotify and other services.
- Wear happy. Break out spare chalk a t stock and draw happy.
- Setup a happy wall. Get people to share happy stories, ideally local stories.
- Be socially happy. On Facebook, through the period of the pop-up, write about happy things, celebrate happy shoppers, products and more. Changes the images on your page for the duration.
- Host happy hour. On one or multiple days. Put on some drinks, snacks and offer deals.
The idea here is for your business to encourage, nurture and promote happy ... to invite people to see your business in a different light.
