A challenge for any newsagency business, especially a newsXpress related business, is to have people see the business as different to what they think of as a newsagency.
People think of newsagencies as yesteryear, paper / magazine / lottery shops, expensive.
Today, with much of what we offer being innovative and noon-traditional, we need to leverage opportunities to promote our businesses in break through ways.
Offering a yoga class in the shop is one way you could do this.
It's a crazy idea right?! How on earth could this work? there is no room? It has nothing to do with what we do. It will confuse people. How would we make money?
These are all valid questions and comments.
In suggesting you hosting a yoga class, we are suggesting something that raises these questions. If you ask them, so will those who hear about your yoga event and that, of itself, will help challenge the perception of your business, and hopefully, get people thinking of you differently.
Lululemon in London, a fashion business, hosted yoga classes in 2016. Story in New York, did it is 2018. It each case it was about extending the shopper experience, to get shoppers seeing the businesses through a different light.

- Partner with a local yoga instructor. yes, this is an good cross promotion for them.
- Host one, maybe two, sessions ... when you are usually closed.
- Control numbers.
- People book. Free or paid.
- Have water ready for participants.
- Keep it simple.
- Focus on the yoga.
- Consider reaching out to any yoga or lifestyle magazines you stock, for support or at the very lease social media promotion.
- Promote the event on social medias.
- Have fun.
- Participate yourself.
This suggestion is about getting people to see your business differently.
