Royal Australian Mint products represent an excellent opportunity to attract new shoppers to your business.
PLACEMENT
Place products in a well lit locked cabinet or fixture. Put a base layer of black under the product, to help it be seen. This can be fabric or card.
Lift products on an angle so they can be easily seen.
Make the price visible.
Shift coins and packs in the display every week or two.
From time to time, promote one product at the counter, when you have someone close by full time to manage.
STAFF TRAINING.
This is critical. Ensure that everyone in the business knows about the coins and that they are pitched when people ask about gifts.
Talk about the shopper. In o0ur experience, coin buyers reach beyond what people assume. They truly can be anyone.
There are wonderful gift giving occasions too: new baby, anniversary, birthday, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Chinese New Year, Graduation, New Job, Thank you.
MARKETING AND PROMOTION.
Ask the Mint for a window decal. They have them.
Promote on social media - one photo of one product at any time. This is important. Otherwise, too many photos will not get noticed.
Consider an unboxing event for new stock.
Consider hosting a coin collectors group in-store.
Put out a call on social media for local coin collectors to contact you - this may help you find new customers.
Create an A4 poster promoting a product and include this in themed and seasonal displays.
Register as a stockist on the newsXpress website. Do it here: https://www.newsxpress.com.au/manage-products This helps us promote you.
STOCKING.
Maintain a good sock level. Selling down and not replenishing is a mistake. With the regular releases from the Mint you have wonderful opportunities to tell an evolving story. That starts with stock levels.
CROSS PROMOTE.
Look at coin opportunities for which you have other licence product opportunities - like car licence jigsaws, Possum magic products and more.
